In the early stage of the domestic and international DTF printing industry, mainstream white ink products suffered from prevalent technical defects, including uneven pigment dispersion, severe sedimentation and delamination, poor suspension stability, and frequent printhead clogging. Conventional titanium dioxide-based white ink features high particle density and inferior suspension performance. Hard sediment accumulates rapidly at the bottom of ink tanks and pipelines after short-term static placement, resulting in skewed printing, missing nozzles, and discontinuous ink supply during high-speed operation. Furthermore, low-grade white ink commonly causes uneven base coverage, blurred color transition, and hot-press color bleeding, leading to high defective rates, frequent equipment shutdown and maintenance, and low mass production efficiency — key bottlenecks restricting the stable operation of industrial DTF production lines worldwide.
In 2021, targeting the above industrial technical bottlenecks, our R&D team completed independent formula development and structural optimization of white ink pigment systems. By adopting high-purity modified titanium dioxide particles and matching high-stability water-based dispersion systems, we thoroughly resolved the core technical problem of insufficient dispersion stability of traditional DTF white ink. 2022 | Technical Upgrade — High Color Fastness & Superior Wash Resistance for DTG Water-Based Pigment Ink
Traditional commercial DTG direct-to-garment water-based pigment inks have widespread inherent defects: insufficient color saturation, dull printing layers, weak fabric permeability, and low washing & friction fastness. Printed patterns produced with conventional inks are prone to fading, whitening, and peeling after repeated washing and long-term wear. In addition, most ordinary inks have strict limitations in fabric compatibility, failing to meet the printing and adhesion requirements of pure cotton, polyester-cotton blends, synthetic fibers and other composite materials. Such drawbacks make traditional products unable to satisfy the high-durability and personalized customization demands of modern garment mass production and high-end export orders.
In 2022, we achieved pivotal technological breakthroughs in high color fastness and ultra wash resistance of DTG water-based pigment ink. Through precise optimization of pigment particle grading, upgrading of water-based resin adhesion systems, and addition of high-efficiency anti-fading and anti-washing functional additives, the finished ink achieves a 30% increase in overall color saturation compared with traditional products, presenting more three-dimensional printing layers and vivid color restoration. The product’s washing fastness and dry & wet friction fastness stably reach Grade 4–5, fully complying with international garment printing durability standards.
